Y’all, can we talk about something real quick? Girls’ Night Out. When was the last time you got dressed up just because? Not for a kid’s birthday party, not for a parent-teacher conference, but just for YOU?
Look – I know planning a night out feels like adding one more thing to your already full plate. Between finding a sitter, coordinating schedules, and trying to remember how to walk in heels (chile…), it can feel like more trouble than it’s worth.
But let me tell you something – your soul NEEDS this. Not just any random night out, but a real, intentional, laugh-until-your-face-hurts kind of night with your girls.
So let me help you plan this thing right:
The Pre-Game Glow-Up
- Book that hair appointment you’ve been putting off
- Pull out that outfit that makes you feel like THAT girl
- Actually do your makeup without a tiny human asking for snacks every 2 minutes
(Pro tip: Get ready at somebody’s house WITHOUT kids. Trust me on this.)
The Actual Plans For Girls’ Night
First things first – we’re not about to be out here doing the most. We want FUN, not drama. Here’s some ideas that hit different:
Paint and Sip Night
This right here is perfect because:
- Girls’ night in… is a thing too
- You can actually hear each other talk
- Nobody’s trying to act too young in these streets
- You leave with something besides regrets
- The wine is usually cheaper than the club
Plus you might discover you got skills you ain’t even know about

Book a Group Cooking Class
Now listen – I know what you’re thinking. “Girl, I cook every day!” But this is different:
- Somebody else cleaning up after you
- No kids asking for different meals
- You actually get to eat your food while it’s hot
- Plus you might learn something to flex on them at home

Spa Day Turned Night Out
Start with massages and facials, end with dinner and drinks. Your body AND your spirit will thank you.

For My Adventurous Girls’ Night
- Axe throwing (let out that mom stress)
- Escape rooms (use that “find the missing sock” energy)
- Dance classes (remember when you used to know all the moves?)
The Low-Key Girls’ Night Option
Sometimes you just need to book a hotel room, order room service, and talk until 3am like y’all used to. No shame in that game AT ALL.
Make It Drama-Free
Few ground rules to keep it cute:
- No kid talk for the first hour (set a timer if you have to )
- Everybody handles their own sitter situation beforehand
- Set that budget UP FRONT
- Have your rides figured out BEFORE the drinks start
- Take them pictures early while everybody still look right
The Morning After Plan
Listen – you ain’t 21 anymore. Plan for:
- Late start the next day
- Lots of water
- Some good greasy breakfast
- Maybe some sunglasses
- And definitely some good stories
Real talk though – planning a girls’ night might feel like a lot, but you deserve this time to just be YOU again. Not somebody’s mama, not somebody’s wife, just you with your girls, remembering who you were before you became who you are now.
And when you get home to them babies (and probably a messy house because… men), you’ll be a better mama for having taken this time for yourself. Period.
Share this post with your girls. Let’s help each other make these plans happen!
